About Our Employees

At Humboldt Utilities, our employees believe in good customer service and are committed to making our utility “customer friendly.” But, who are we really?

Our utility and our employees believe that we are more than just a friendly, efficient provider of electricity, gas and water/sewer services. We feel strongly that a part of our mission is to be involved and active in all aspects of our community, so that Humboldt becomes a better place to live, work and raise a family.

Many of our employees are individually involved in community activities each year and contribute their time, their talents and their dollars to many worthwhile causes. Some of these activities include countless hours assisting with Strawberry Festival events, owning a successful business in Humboldt, participating in civic groups, like the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Junior Auxiliary ,the Downtown Business Association,  committees, coaching baseball and basketball for young children, and other events too numerous to mention.

Humboldt Utilities employees have been strong supporters of United Way for many years and have been recognized with the Gold Award of Excellence for the number of participating employees and for total dollars pledged. Employees pledged $6,400.32 in  2024, proving that people do still care about other people. Also, many utility employees are major blood donors who contribute on a regular basis, and several employees have been singled out for their milestone contribution.

In addition to individual employee contributions, the Humboldt Utilities Board and management support many worthwhile projects and organizations in our town. The utility works closely with the Chamber of Commerce, contributes funds toward economic development, hosts luncheons to promote our city, supports many academic and athletic endeavors within our City schools, sponsors industry appreciation events, and assists in major City projects like lighting the Baseball/Softball Complex and the Walking Trail at Bailey Park. We also support the Humboldt Boys & Girls Club, the Humboldt Public Library, the West TN Regional Art Center, as well as our two local museums; The West TN Strawberry Festival/Historical  Museum and the Tom & O.E. Stigall Museum.  All of these organizations and projects focus on the many positive things about our city.

So when you see an employee of Humboldt Utilities, be reminded that not only do they provide a service to our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they are also involved in the life of our city and in the lives of the people we serve.
